The God Of Disruption

We can foolishly think God interrupts our day but we forget our day and our lives actually belong to Him. He is merely collecting on what is His and making sure His will is accomplished despite us and while using us. The latter is actually a privilege that our Creator would let His created be apart of His plans.
Today I ran into Wegmans quickly. As I walked to the car I saw a middle aged woman struggling. Her car alarm kept going off. She looked so frustrated and frazzled. As I got in the car, and closed the door ready to put the key in the ignition, I heard God say "Go help." Now before I could say that wasn't God and let out a hearty "Get behind me satan!" I had to do a quick voice check. What I mean is test the voice you heard. Would satan ask me to help that stressed woman? No. He'd prefer I go with my first thought which was someone else will help and I've got things to do. Selfishness. Satan urges us to be selfish, but the Spirit of God stirs us to be selfless.
Finally, I got out of the car and helped. We got the alarm off only to have it go off again. I was trying to tell her to unlock all her doors before getting in so it didn't trigger the alarm again, but she couldn't hear me. I found out why. She sat in the car yelling she didn't have time for this. She had quite a drive because today her dad was being placed in a nursing home. Boom! That's why I was there. She was broken and in a tough place and here was satan poking at her already emotional state. I was able to get her calm enough to listen to and walk out a solution. I told her to stop and take a deep breath. She sat in the front seat, let out a long breath of release and then thanked me. All I could think was thank you God because she was a car accident waiting to happen in her original state. I sat in the car and prayed for her, her dad, and her day.
God will disrupt our day so His will is done. This is nothing new. It happened throughout the Bible. It happened countless times to Jesus. The woman with the issue of blood; a disrupter of His day on His way to heal Jairus's daughter. (Luke 8) Feeding the 5,000 actually came from disruption. Jesus was originally trying to be alone to mourn John the Baptist. He was a friend but let's not forget he was also His cousin. Jesus was mourning family. However He stopped to teach and show compassion. (Matthew 14) Peter was on his way into the temple when the beggar stopped him. Peter stopped and the beggar got healed. (Acts 3)
Out of what feels like disruptions God can bring miracles. What seems like inconvenience is actually divine appointments. God is waiting for us to stop with the excuses. He wants to erase "Someone else will do it." from our vocabulary. We are the somebody's He's chosen. And you never know, that next disruption could mean someone's salvation. Let God disrupt our plans and see what miracles He'll do!
