Have You Seen My List?

I admit I am a lister. I like to make lists. I like to plan and write things down. I'm a very visual person and it helps me organize my thoughts. I'll even admit I've probably had lists for my lists! However, I can make all the lists I want from dawn till dusk but, God still has the final say

Proverbs 16:9 says "We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps." I can make my lists and it brings me a temporary feeling of stability and comfort, but my planning needs to leave room for God. Am I so tied to my lists that God shuffling my papers makes me mad or angry? Can I let God open a window and let my papers blow all over the place? That pseudo disorder is God actually restoring order and reestablishing His rightful place. I can make my plans, but He determines my steps. He is the navigator.

God's navigational system wants to override mine. It's not because He's controlling, insensitive, or power hungry. He simply knows the best route. He knows way. I think I know the way, when in reality I'm just throwing darts in a poorly lit room, hoping to get a bullseye. I only see in part, while contrastingly, God knows the beginning, middle, and end of my story. So I can make my plans, but my plans need to kneel to His direction.
